Riverside Players is an amateur dramatics group based in Old Windsor, Berkshire, UK.
If you are in the area and are interested in drama, music and dancing, then you should be speaking to us!
We were formed in 1960 with the aim of producing a wide range of amateur productions. We usually perform three shows a year, a play in March, a musical or play in June and a pantomime in December.
We rehearse every Monday and Thursday evening at 8pm at the Memorial Hall, Straight Road, Old Windsor and occasionally at the Guide Hut which is just next door.
We are a completely hands-on group, and all members, whether on-stage or off, pull together to help make each production a success.
We construct and paint our own scenery and props, which is done on the three Sundays prior to a performance. Set-building Sundays are great fun, as members get the opportunity to work together as a team and learn new skills. We also have our own costume store, and you will always find a merry team of stitchers at stageworks.
We are non-profit making and each year we donate money to various local and national charities, that have some relevance to our members.
We are always keen to meet new members, whether you have a desire to perform on stage or want to help out with backstage, scenery painting, sound, lighting or costumes. Our annual membership is currently £20 for a full member and if you are in a production, there would be a show fee of around £20, which is set at the beginning of each show.
If you are looking for entertainment from a dedicated and fun group of people, then why not come along to a performance?
Our next big production will be our traditional family pantomime, Beauty and the Beast. Please see our current production page for more information.
